Why Creatives are seen as Visionaries

Do you know what entrepreneurs have that make them shine even though they hustle their butts off to make every single penny they make?

I’ll get to that in a second.

First let me share this with you:

You can’t just be good at what you do. You need to be good and marketable. You can’t just be awesome. You need to be awesome and stand out!

This, my friend, is the essence of being a trailblazer. If you are going to live a life that inspires others you must be willing to risk comfort and uniformity.

If you are going to walk the path that many dread walking on, you need courage and creativity. Yet the sad truth is that creativity has been reduced to something only art majors are good at.

But here’s why you need to embody creativity:

You will be called upon to solve problems that haven’t even existed. Yes, you smart person!

Do you even know that people solve problems that don’t exist? These people are called visionaries. They see into the future and anticipate changes and make predictions about how to avoid disasters (or generate more profit).

1) You need to be a creative person––not just a worker, to stand out in the marketplace.

Creative people aren’t satisfied with knowing why things don’t work. They think about the why things don’t work before going into the how to make them work again. Creative people don’t just cut shapes and paint watercolor walls; they design a solutions that solve REAL problems.

When you are good at what you do and are creative about how you work, you become marketable and stand out in the marketplace!

2) You need to be a creative person to stay relevant and competitive.

It’s not about the degrees you currently have. It’s never about how many accolades you received at your graduation ceremony or the last time you closed a sale. You will have to reinvent yourself over and over again in the course of your career.

Creative people who double as visionaries are aware of these changes and are ever ready to cultivate their talents in order to stay relevant in the marketplace.

3) You need to be a creative person to command a higher financial compensation.

This is it. The more problems you solve for the marketplace, the higher your salary. The more creative you are at adding luster to your organization, the more relevant you are. And let’s not forget that relevancy is important! The day you stop being relevant, you become invisible.

There’s a reason why surgeons command a higher salary than primary care physicians. They take on more risk, cutting you open to see the inner workings of your organs, and chiseling away body parts that have become cancerous to you.

It’s not a surgeon vs general doctor debate, but as a new graduate, you will soon realize that “general skills” can’t get you far!

Can you move from being a generalist to a creative genius?

I want to challenge you to move from being a worker to being a creative expert!

Think about something that you can add your creativity and brilliance to…because the two definitely go together. Think about how you can achieve better results by changing the way you bring yourself to work.

This is what makes entrepreneurs shine even though they hustle their way to the top.

They don’t think of work as work. They think of work as a creative process with a goal to solve a problem.
